Drug-Induced Magnesium Deficiency
Patients are at risk for magnesium deficiency if they are taking certain medications, such as:
Diuretics (water pills such as Thiazides and Lasix)
Chemotherapy Drugs
Anti-Rejection Drugs
Cyclosporine
Digoxin
Nexium and other acid reflux drugs
DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS
There are numerous symptoms of magnesium deficiency, and they are some of the most common symptoms experienced. These are key indicators that signal the body might be low on magnesium.
Early symptoms of low magnesium levels include:
Muscle Tension in Legs
Fatigue
Low Energy
Restless Sleep
Cramps
Tingling or Numbness in extremities.
Poor Carbohydrate Metabolism
